Ideas for Home Tastings

Some years ago, when we had completed our first few commissions for home wine events, it dawned on us what a brilliant idea these are for ways to entertain your friends.  And we've learnt how to do them well.  The devil is all the detail worked out in advance and believe us,we now know exactly which boxes need ticking in the plan.

We will supply a wine expert presenter who more than anything else will fascinate everyone about wine. We will supply all the glasses and wine - your job is to get your friends round.

We can design a tailor-made wine course over, say five to seven evenings once a week, or it can be a one-off. If you want to do food or order it in, no problem. The aim as always is to help you enjoy wine more, to give you more confidence when you buy wine from merchants or in restaurants. Above all it will be fun  And nothing to clear up afterwards - we will quickly clear and go.

Give us a call to discuss what you have in mind. We can put together a plan on any topic or approach to wine, from fun to serious. Have a look at fees to see the kind of factors that go to make up the final costs.

'Tim Hall has twice created a unique and much enjoyed private event in our home.  Themed first on fine Burdundy and secondly on fine wines from my husband's cellar, Tim expertly indulged us and a handful of friends through the intricacies of each.  His knowledge is first class, never intimidating and always cushioned with an interest in discovery.  An added benefit was Tim's suggestion of a trained waitress to handle the multiple glassware - no washing up to boot.  I believe we will remember our wine tasting days with Tim forever.'      Lizzi Maddox

'The Scala School of Wine tailored a course over a period of weeks to take in wines from around the world at various pricing levels.  We took it in turns to host the evenings in our homes around south-west London's river bends.  The course provided us with insight into the creation of the wines whilst also allowing us to develop some skills around tasting.  Tim Hall was very professional in his organisation of the course and relaxed and knowledgeable enough to pitch things at the level we were able to understand.  I would definitely recommend him and his school to friends and family should they wish to learn more about the world of wine.'      Andrew MacFarlane
